The Case of the Unauthorized Release of Lost Souls
About
My contemporary fantasy trilogy begins with the first book, "The Case of the Unauthorized Release of Lost Souls," which follows the inspiring journey of a girl named Lybid, known as Halyna, in the World of Humans. Though she carries the weight of a noble past, Halyna embodies the essence of kindness and youthful curiosity. As she wanders through the vibrant cities of Ukraine, she inadvertently liberates the souls of ghosts, revealing the beauty in forgotten legends.
Throughout her adventure, Halyna encounters many mythological creatures that hint at her greater purpose. However, driven by her desire to understand her newfound feelings, she continues to free souls, forge connections with those experiencing homelessness, dance with mermaids, enjoy music festivals, light bonfires under starlit skies, delve into books, and embrace the wonders of nature. Meanwhile, she navigates the challenges of a mysterious illness that brings her pain, a testament to the trials we endure on the path to self-discovery.
This work is rich with symbolism, reflecting our quest for identity, our acceptance of historical truths, and our resilience in turbulent times. It celebrates the power of kindness, friendship, and collective strength. Set against the backdrop of Russia's looming invasion of Ukraine, it pays homage to the Maidan and the unfolding events leading to the Russian-Ukrainian War. Amidst deep themes, humor shines through, reminding us of the light that can coexist with darkness.
